Overview
This is a complete business-intelligence pipeline for card payment data, from raw transactional files to dashboards. It follows the classic layered approach: source, staging area, data warehouse and presentation layer.
Power BI reports give operations teams a daily view of volumes and rejections, a monthly view of KPIs against targets, and a trend view that surfaces seasonality and anomalies.
What I built
- Built an end-to-end ETL pipeline loading transactional data into a star-schema warehouse.
- Designed a dimensional model (FactPayment plus dimensions) optimized for analytical queries.
- Delivered Power BI dashboards for daily KPIs, monthly performance and trend analysis.
Design and architecture
- ETL: a master SSIS package orchestrates child packages that load staging, then dimensions, then the payment fact table, in dependency order.
- Warehouse: a star schema with a FactPayment table and dimensions such as date, card type and store, optimized for analytical queries.
- Reporting: three Power BI views (daily, monthly, trend) on top of the warehouse.
